Cuba Cuba is located between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean less than 100 miles south of The U.S.A.
Cuba Climate Cuba has a tropical climate with hot and humid conditions all year long. There are 2 seasons, the dry season (November to April) and the wet season (May to October). Resources Cuba’s natural resources are cobalt, nickel, iron ore, copper, manganese, salt, timber, silica, petroleum and arable land. Cuba’s major crops are sugar, tobacco, citrus, coffee, rice, potatoes and beans.
Cuba The major population centers of Cuba are in Havana, the country’s capital, and the Guantanamo region. The total population of Cuba is just over 11 million.
Cuba Cuban agriculture can be seen almost everywhere you go. Since there are no mountains in Cuba, most of the land is suitable for farming. Many Cubans grow crops in their yards in the cities.
Cuba The major industries of Cuba are sugar, petroleum, tobacco, chemicals, construction, services, nickel, steel, cement and agricultural machinery. Almost all the industry in Cuba is owned and controlled by the government and employs nearly 78% of the country’s people. Cuban’s industry is centered around processing the sugar and tobacco crops, mining nickel and iron, providing materials for construction and machinery for farming. Most industry is located near the major cities of Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Camaguey, Holguin, Santa Clara, and Guantanamo.
Brazil Brazil is located in South America taking up most of the central and eastern part of the continent. Brazil is larger than all the other South American countries combined.
Brazil The climate of Brazil is Tropical and mostly hot. Some areas are dry and most get a lot of rainfall. The only areas that get cold temperatures are in the higher elevations in the southern mountains.
Brazil Brazil has many natural resources. Iron, manganese, coal, bauxite, nickel, oil, tin, silver, diamonds, gold, natural gas and uranium are all found in Brazil. Brazil also has large areas of pasture land and is the worlds leading beef exporter. Fresh water and hydro-electric production is also abundant providing over 90% of the countries electricity.
Brazil Brazil’s total population is about 192,000,000. Most of the population is found in the southern areas and near the larger cities. Most of the country is very sparsely populated. The areas with very few people are not developed and have only a few small cities.
Brazil Brazil produces a large variety of crops including cocoa, cotton, rice, sugarcane, oranges, corn, soybeans, wheat, beans, manioc (cassava), bananas, peanuts, and coffee. Brazil is one of the largest exporters of guavas, lemons, mangoes, passion fruit, tangerines, and tobacco. Of course, Brazil nuts also come from Brazil.

Rain Forest A rain forest is an area that receives a high amount of rainfall and is made up of dense stands of trees and other plants. A large amount of the world’s rain forests are found in Brazil. Much of the rain forests have never been fully explored or studied. We may never know all the plants and animals that live in the rain forest. Many thousands of acres of rain forests are being destroyed every year. These are rain forests that will never grow back. That means all the plants and animals that live there are gone forever. We should be slow to destroy something that can not be replaced. It is not fully known how destroying these forests will effect the rest of the world. Brazil is taking steps to gain more control over these forests to protect them and manage them as a valuable resource.
